A good friend, Mr. C, asked me if I wanted to go for lunch. I was ready, since I am always hungry. He suggested Sieu Sieu and I was there at 11:30, on the dot. He wasn't. 
Kirk has blogged about this place and Mr. C has been here a lot, and I took both of their suggestions in mind when I ordered.
By ordering the Sieu Sieu chow mein, not crispy. (Something neither of them had recommended)
Noodles, bean sprouts, onion, shrimp, chicken, beef, BBQ pork. Plenty of food on this plate. I am unsure what is the difference between 'Sieu Sieu' and the 'combination' chow mein.
Good food. Lots of noodles. Not too spicy, but a good flavor to everything. There were leftovers for Mr. C to enjoy at work this evening.
The very large bowl of beef stew/soup with tendon, egg noodles, dumplings, broccoli and onion.
Very very very good, flavorful. The soft gelatinous tendon was a wonderful treat. The beef was very flavorful and tender. The egg noodles were perfect. Lots of noodles.

Oh yes. Our appetizer. One pound of roast pork.
Oh the (just right)crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. It was wonderful. There was a good amount of pickled cabbage on the side.
Even though we did not finish all of our food, Mr. C said he wanted pie for dessert.
Coc0's is across the street. We walked over.
Mr. C chose the banana cream pie, a bit flat in appearance, but excellent in flavor of the filling and the crust was light and flaky.
I chose the "pie of the month" for May: lemon meringue. Excellent meringue, excellent crust, tart, lemony filling.
We each had coffee. Then Mr. C went to work, with the leftover chow mein.
Excellent lunch. Thanks, Mr. C (and Kirk) for letting me know about Sieu Sieu.

Yum, I wish I had some pie right now. Reading this blog around lunch time, when I have no food, is always a mistake – LOL! Crossing fingers for fruit in my next CSA box! π
Golden pineapples are out right now, Lori. Henry’s has them for 97 cents until Wednesday, and Costco and Vons have them for about $3 each. Sweeter than canned. I am waiting for Macintosh apples to be ready, but it isn’t quite autumn.
I can see stats and it seems everyone checks out this blog just before lunch and just before dinner. I try to show a variety of places, because I really do like everything.
“One pound of roast pork” = appetizer? I like how you think.
Wow way to go Cathy you made me want crispy pork… nothing can beat that super crunchy skin! The only thing that can top the craving of crispy pork skin would probably be… bacon π
Thanks, TOG and Cliff π On Saturday, The Mister and I went to Yum Cha, ordered 5 dim sum and a $10.34 chunck of roast pork (it is $8.99/lb) and ate it all. Easier than cooking it at home.
I love the Dumpling and Wonton Soup here. I used to eat noodles in Linda Vista, where Sab E Lee is located. When they closed i was a little sad, becaused i loved there wonton soup. Then i came here and ate their wonton soup, to my amazement it tasted the same. After talking to one of the ladies at Sieu Sieu, i find out that her sister owned the noodle shop in Linda Vista, and they have the same recipe. Just thought i would share the story. yas
Yes, I remember when the old SEL had the noodle soups, Yas. The soup is the same here; really good. Thanks for the story and welcome to our blog.
