I noticed a new Pho shop set to open in the same plaza as Nijiya and Spicy House.
The sign says "Mignon Pho + Grill"…. could we finally be getting Filet Mignon Pho in San Diego? I hope so. There's been an interesting amount of turnover in the specific strip mall. I'm wondering if business was just bad, or perhaps the leases just got bumped up…..

My good FOY (Friend of Yoso) told me that signage was up in the former location of Huynh Hoa Tuu and O' Yea. It seems that either the folks at Hoai Hue Deli are relocating, or opening up a second shop. If they are moving, I won't have to keep folks on the look-out for the shop below Hung's Tattoo Parlor and Alcoholics Anonymous anymore.

The Missus pointed out an interesting sentence on a label to me.
Guess where that label came from?
Of all things, it was on a food storage container I got from Daiso.
I guess the manufacturers are expecting folks to keep some pretty "fresh" stuff in these containers!
Speaking of Daiso, is it just me that finds this ashtray kinda strange…..

Buyer Beware:
I recently needed some Chinkiang vinegar, and not finding my favorite brands, I went for what I thought was Gold Plum Brand, which is always dependable. Seeing the price at 99 cents, I thought it was a bargain. I grabbed it in a rush, and it wasn't until I got home when I found it was not Gold Plum Brand, but another with a similar yellow bottle. It's the one on the right in the photo, Gold Plum is on the left. The brand on the right is not very good……..
When I returned to 99 Ranch Market, I noticed that the two brands are stocked right next to each other.
And finally………
I recently dropped by my neighborhood sandwich shop. One of the owners, Peter told me he wanted to make me something "special" just for me……. how could I resist! So guess what he made?
It was my personal SPAM®, egg, and cheese sandwich! You gotta love it when your neighborhood sandwich joint makes SPAM® sandwiches.
It had me singing one of my favorite songs…. I've never been a big fan of Weird Al, but I love this……
