Izakaya Naruto just opened in the former Kaga Sushi spot in Chula Vista.
Thanks for the great updates (long-time reader, first time commenter). I’m curious about the new Izakaya and how it might differ from Tajima (the pics on the Yelp listing give off a similar feel).
Also, not sure if you have already mentioned that Nolbu on Convoy changed to SOHO Gastropub but it’s still Korean food and I believe the same owners. I heard they remodeled too, but I haven’t been in lately to check it out.

Yea Sho-san finally found a buyer. He was almost 80 so a well deserved retirement. A quick glance at the menu looks more like a sushi bar but I won’t judge until I check them out.
Sho-san’s back! The owner of Utage convinced him to come out of retirement. He’s making sushi for them now.
