Can you believe we're almost two-thirds into our trip? Time is flying by. Anyway, we haven't ever eaten as well in recent memory. Three cities in two nations and the home to a proud people, who eat quite well.
On our first stop we did two huge tasting menu dinners. Amazing.
What could possibly be my favorite piece of artwork in the world. I just couldn't pass it without taking a photo.
Here's one of my favorite…..if a bit spooky photos.
We did a day trip to a town with a famous tree.
Which was the site of a tremendous devastating bombing which inspired this painting.
Next stop is a must for the food pilgrim.
At this point, I started wondering how long it would be before the Missus hit the Foie Gras wall.
Amazingly, it hasn't happened yet.
Last stop was another wonderful seaside town.
Where we had a comforting and delicious dinner.
We headed into the sunset happy with full bellies.

exciting! can’t wait for your detailed posts:)
is that a moss covered puppy dog? and oh my goodness, so so much foie gras! 😀
Espana?!!!!
Waiting for the full report to read more about Euzkadi.
Thanks Kat!
Foie Gras heaven Lynnea. The puppy is covered with flowers.
Hi Anon – Close enough.
Hopefully, I can get those posts done quickly Ed.
I was going with Spain after seeing the salmorejo photo, and then I saw the dog statue photo with what looked like the Bilbao Guggenheim in the background. (And then Guernica gave it away, I guess.)
Looks like you’re in Foie Gras town.
Bilboa and San Sebastian! Did you make it to A Fuego Negro??
Please detail that cauliflower (?) soup with caviar! is that salsify in it or is that pickled cucumber? I shouldn’t be reading this at work with no food.
Hi Hao – I’m really not trying to make this too hard!
More like foie gras heaven Billy.
Hi Jake – Sorry to say A Fuego Negro and Zeruko were closed during our visit. Will have to plan a bit better next time.
Hi Dereck – That’s zucchini. As for the rest, you’ll have to wait for the complete post. I will say it was one heck of a meal!
Your dishes from the tasting dinners look beautiful.
There is also another Maman spider sculpture in Ottawa. I am so creeped out by spiders that I wouldn’t even stand near it, haha.
Hey CC – That spider looked pretty creepy at night
omg i love the food pics and the awesome artwork in this post, especially the tree ceiling. i couldn’t guess location without using google but it looks amazing as always!
Thanks Lynn! We had some great meals……
